Kreator is a German thrash metal band. They were formed in Essen in 1982, originally under the name Tormentor, but since there was already a band of that name, they took the name they still use today. Their music is influenced by Slayer, Venom, Metallica and Mercyful Fate.

Anthrax is an American thrash metal band formed in New York in 1981 by guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker. Anthrax was one of the most popular speed/thrash metal bands of the 1980s, one of the "Big Four" (along with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer). Their early material successfully combined fast and melodic speed metal with the heavier rhythms of trash. By their own admission, their music was most influenced by Iron Maiden, especially their album The Number of the Beast. According to Nielsen Soundscan, between 1991 and 2004 they sold 2.5 million albums in the United States and 10 million copies worldwide.
