CSABA SZENDRŐI - #OLVASNISZABAD, GUEST: DÓRA MENCSELI AND ABA ZSUFFA (ANALOG BALATON)

2024-03-20T18:00:00.000Z

The literacy-free movement was invented in 2020 by Csaba Szendrői, poet, Artisjus award-winning lyricist, singer and frontman of the band Elefánt. Its aim is to promote reading, self-development and the impact of reading on the individual's personality, consciousness and thinking. It does not aim to provide real therapy, but simply to give readers tools to help them get the most out of reading in their own way.

At the reading-free events, we read together for the first hour, followed by a lecture. During the March lecture, Csabi Szendrői and Dóra Mencseli (Petőfi Radio) will talk to Aba Zsuffa (Analog Balaton) about literary experiences, reading, writing and music.

Schedule

"Aba Zsuffa and Ákos Vörös didn't have any recorded songs when they were already playing sold-out live-act parties all over the country. Analog Balaton, who were gaining ground in Hungarian underground circles, finally released their first album in 2021. The nine-track 'Down' remained faithful to the improvisational, monotone electronica of the beginning, but with a very strong lyrical focus. On this album, Aba writes with surprising honesty about broken evenings, hungover, languid mornings, and bitter, lonely sadness. The duo are currently working on their forthcoming album, which is expected to be released later this year."

On 20 March, Zsuffa Aba's lyrical world will be in the spotlight, come and read with us and discover the creative world of your favourite musicians!

Info about the programme:

- bring polyfoam, blankets, pillows, etc. for reading and discussion (but, if you can't, that's ok, because we will have them on site)

- everyone reads their own book, so don't forget to bring your current reading material!
