Peet Project + Adam Hawley
2024-05-24T18:00:00.000Z
When someone is discovered and offered a record deal by Earth, Wind and Fire founder Maurice White, it's no surprise that they have extraordinary talent. Guitarist Adam Hawley is perhaps the most successful artist of the new generation of contemporary jazz. Of his four albums and recordings as a producer, 14 have reached the Billboard charts and 40 (!) have charted in the Top 30. In addition to his solo career, he has played with The Manhattar Transfer, Natalie Cole, Dave Koz, Jennifer Lopez and Brian McKnight. One of the most sought-after music producers of our time, he is a favourite with American funk and jazz festival audiences. His guitar playing is at once sophisticated and energetic, and his improvisations are stunning.

Schedule
In Budapest, he performs for the first time in a joint concert with the Peet Project. The Peet Project is one of the most talented and now internationally acclaimed young Hungarian pop-jazz bands. Their first career milestone was winning the Jazzy Radio Song Contest in 2009. Since 2013, they have performed regularly at major US and national jazz festivals, winning Album of the Year in 2013, Album of the Year in 2017 and Song of the Year in 2020 at the Catalina Island JazzTrax, the top jazz festival in the US. In early 2021, they topped the charts in Canada, and have been featured on the US Billboard Smooth Jazz Top 30 chart with four different songs. They were also featured on Hungary's Got Talent in 2015 and on A Dal in 2017 and 2018. They are regular guests on the A38 stage, but their music needs no introduction to the audiences of jazz and gastro festivals, including the Paloznak Jazz Picnic.
Adam Hawley and the Peet Project first met at the 2016 Dave Koz Cruise, and in 2021 Adam invited the band to be guests on his own online show, where they shared a memorable musical experience. This tradition continues on stage at the A38 with a funky party spiced up with jazz and pop, featuring a show from both artists' repertoire.
Location
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
