Rita Cserbik's recent works focus on fruit, yet they are not still lifes in the classical sense. FRUITS OF THE SUN is a series of paintings that draws on the stylistic traits of abstract expressionism. In this universe, the viewer looks around in confusion: nowhere is there a recognisable spherical shape, a firm, fleshy flesh glistening in the sunlight. Apparently.

In Cserbik's previous exhibition, NEW FEST, presented at the end of last year, the viewer was confronted with gigantic canvases. Sometimes stretched over a carved frame, sometimes nailed directly to the walls of Klauzál6 Project Gallery, Cserbik's paintings are full of sweeping gestures and brushstrokes that show traces of sweeping movements, and now he has a new chapter to open to the public for the first time at Telep Gallery.
Visitors will not only be able to see the finished paintings of the FRUITS OF THE SUN series, but also to discover the process of experimentation, the various operations and stages of creation, and to get closer to the knowledge of abstraction.
