Schedule
The first half of the concert will feature the duo of Ádám Móser and Márton Kovács. In his compositions, Ádám Móser has created a contemporary Gyimes chamber music that always evokes the twists and turns of authentic Gyimes folk music, yet its structure is based on quite different foundations. The music of Zerkula, Halmágyi or the Tímár brothers can be heard in his motifs, but the pieces are sometimes close to free-flowing, improvisational, and sometimes to repetitive, contemporary chamber music. The members of the duo, with many years of folk music experience behind them, have thrown themselves into the world of improvisational chamber music.
The Trio Sordini, which will be heard in the second half of the concert, was born a few years ago when three musicians, who were also at home in the theatre, thought of bringing the sounds, rhythms and melodies they had heard in the plays directed by János Mohácsi to life. They thought that, by breaking away from the system of a theatrical performance, the strings of different origins could interact with each other and tell further intricate stories for the musicians and, even more so, for the audience. And as time goes by, more and more new melodies and rhythms emerge in Trio Sordini's sometimes seemingly endless labyrinth of sound. Composition and improvisation, a journey from everywhere to everywhere. In addition to compositions by Márton Kovács, the trio will perform pieces by Ádám Móser, which are part of the trio's Bp. Folk album of the trio.
