TRIO FRÖX, GUEST: LISZTES JENŐ

The collaboration between the orchestra and Jenő Lisztes was the brainchild of the orchestra's leader, Gábor Weisz, who was moved by the cimbalom player's playing. Their music is characterised by a melodic, rhythmic and motivic construction based on simple but inventive forms, full of vibrancy, drive and power. Their style incorporates elements of swing, groove, blues and folk, sometimes mixed with the illusion of monotonous tribal music. In addition to their own compositions, their repertoire includes a variety of atmospheric arrangements, which they adapt to their individuality and enrich with new colours, leaving ample room for individual and collective improvisation. The orchestration is sometimes very light, sometimes quite abstract and serious, sometimes experimental or contemporary, and occasionally with a touch of grotesque humour.
