MYKRO is open

We serve freddo espresso, freddo cappuccino, and traditional Greek frappé. The whole project was inspired by my experience in Greece, where I realized just how different these cold coffees are in the summer—refreshing, strong, yet easy to drink—and we wanted to recreate that experience here at home.

Incidentally, our first shared realization came about on the terrace of Pici, where we agreed on just how much we missed Greek iced coffees back home. Since Pici doesn’t open until 6 p.m., the space goes unused during the day, and that’s how the idea for Mykro was born.

The freddo espresso and freddo cappuccino are made with a double shot of espresso, so they’re bold, high-caffeine drinks; yet, when blended with ice until creamy, they become very smooth and perfect for savoring over time. Because the ice melts slowly, these aren’t drinks you finish in a few minutes; they work well as grab-and-go options, but they truly capture the spirit of a Greek summer when sipped leisurely while sitting on the terrace.

The choice of ingredients was also very important to us; we opted for a 100% Arabica Ethiopian coffee because its flavor profile works best as iced coffee. But it’s not just the taste—the visual appeal is also very important; the beauty of Greek iced coffees is just as much a part of the experience as their taste.

Our goal is simple: we want to introduce these Greek iced coffees to Hungary, because we believe there’s no better way to enjoy coffee in the summer than with a well-made freddo. You shouldn’t come here for latte art or overly elaborate coffee creations, but for the authentic Greek coffee experience—without any frills, focusing solely on the enjoyment of the coffee.

In the future, our drink menu will expand beyond coffee to include other refreshments and snacks. Follow Mykro on Instagram for updates and the latest news.
