The name Barna Hárs may sound familiar to fans of the band Meg Egy Cukorka. Barna launched his solo career in 2024, and a year later, in January 2025, he released his first single, which has been a staple on Hungarian radio stations ever since. Barna released songs month after month, which were compiled into a thematic full-length album titled ZUHANÓREPÜLÉS. The solo project also has a live lineup that functions as a full-fledged band.
The group represents an alt-rock sound, spiced with honest and personal lyrics and messages.
// Kubalibre
Kubalibre is a band formed in Pécs in 2008. It can best be described as a hobby band,
as the members do not operate it as a full-time endeavor alongside their day jobs. Thus, they mostly
they perform in clubs in Pécs, but as a local attraction, Kubalibre also appears in the lineups of the Fishing on Orfű and Ördögkatlan festivals year after year. So far, they have released five albums, all of which were self-released.
They primarily play guitar-driven music with elements of R&B, ska, and alternative rock. Their lyrics are ironic, and their humor is often biting. The topics they cover aren’t limited to relationships or psychological themes
. The guitar-driven sound is enriched by violin, piano, and backing vocals.
