Post-industrial British grunge punk – High Vis concert at the A38 Ship
High Vis’s progressive hardcore has been constantly evolving since the band’s inception, revealing new and exciting facets of their sound. Their latest album, *Guided Tour*, also reaches new heights, exploring a wide range of possibilities—from confident street punk and jangly indie to shoegaze-tinged spoken word—and delivering 11 memorable songs. High Vis is bringing all of this to Budapest on June 14 at the A38 Ship.
Since their emergence on the scene, High Vis has continuously refined their progressive hardcore sound, which incorporates elements of post-punk, British pop, neo-psychedelia, and even Manchester groove, striking a balance between catchy melodies and furious mosh pits. The band released their debut album, *No Sense No Feeling*, in 2019, which transcended the boundaries of the hardcore scene while creating a sound they describe simply as “post-industrial British grunge punk.” The 2022 follow-up, *Blending*, features tracks like “Talk For Hours” and “Trauma Bonds.” The album further expands High Vis’s musical universe and also gives singer Sayle the opportunity to open up in his lyrics. In them, he addresses social issues and political challenges while offering hope to listeners.
Their most recent release is 2024’s Guided Tour, on which High Vis burst with energy as they reached new heights. The album was recorded in just a few weeks at a London
Location
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
