Petőfi Band
Since its inception, Zene Háza has made it its mission to showcase the musical life of rural Hungarian towns. The next stop on the “City in the House” series is Sopron. This festival, which highlights the musical life of Hungary’s most loyal city, will take place in the spirit of diversity that characterizes the venue, and is organized jointly by Zene Háza and the city of Sopron.

Schedule
On the festival’s first day, Saturday, the Petőfi Band—the orchestra of the artists at the Petőfi Theater in Sopron—will make its debut, and Sonny, a native of Sopron, will perform with his band, Sonny and His Wild Cows, evoking 1940s and 1950s America with rockabilly and rhythm and blues. On Sunday, the Fajkusz Banda, Sopron’s renowned folk band, will perform. Before that, there will be “Sunday Music,” a chamber music concert with a bourgeois atmosphere featuring musicians getting married in or from Sopron: pianists László Legendy and Eszter Lesták-Bedő, as well as members of the Wespa Quartet.
