Symbiosis 5, vendég: Horváth Áron

The members of Symbiosis 5 met at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and began working together in 2020. They have developed a repertoire consisting of their own compositions, which blends elements of modal and contemporary jazz. In 2021, they made their debut on a major stage at the Babel-Laureate World Jazz Competition, where they took third place. In 2022, they earned recognition at international competitions abroad: in the summer, they took first place at the Getxo International Jazz Competition and Festival in Spain, and in the winter, they won first place at the Sibiu International Jazz Competition. They continue to rack up accolades and awards; in January 2023, for example, they not only won the Müpa Jazz Showcase’s critics’ and audience awards but also received two special awards. The band will once again take the stage at Opus with a guest soloist; this time, cimbalom player Áron Horváth will join them.
