Tamás Révész’s independent photographic work is often described as that of a leading exponent of lyrical documentary photography. Like his role model, André Kertész, his emotionally charged photographs are defined by the small, fleeting moments of everyday life.
The exhibition, held across three galleries at the Műcsarnok, presents nearly a hundred photographs showcasing the diverse facets of the human condition. Our selection reveals the snapshot-like aesthetics of spontaneous street photography just as much as the dynamism of reportage photography or the architecture of modern urban spaces. The visual memoir that emerges from these images is a rich body of work, capturing both heart-wrenching and uplifting moments from Budapest to New York and from Ecuador to Sicily.
