Schedule

TWIN NOIR is a German post-punk, dark wave, and EBM (Electronic Body Music) duo founded in Berlin in 2021, consisting of Cody Barcelona (vocals, electronics, guitar) and Ian Volt (vocals, bass guitar). Lina Avair assists with the project’s behind-the-scenes work and creative processes as a third member.

The band’s distinctive sound is defined by the “two punks and a tape machine” setup, as the foundation of their music is provided by an analog tape machine. Their music combines minimalist, monotonous German-language lyrics with powerful bass lines, dark synthesizer riffs, and danceable club beats.

ROYE is an indie singer-songwriter based in Prague (Czech Republic). He is originally from India but currently lives and creates music in Europe, primarily in the Czech Republic.

Key characteristics of the project:

• Genre: His music blends elements of shoegaze, dream-pop, and post-punk.

• Influences: His sound is heavily inspired by British alternative guitar bands of the late ’80s and early ’90s (such as The Cure, Oasis, and Radiohead). His music is characterized by deep melancholy, nostalgia, and atmospheric melodies.

• Albums: Their second self-released studio album, titled *Funeral of Feelings*, has been released.

The concert was made possible with the support of LivEurope.

Location

A38 Ship

Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
