VÉNUSZ meets CatJuice x CHAAC

A multidisciplinary art event on September 18 at 6:00 p.m. at Pikszis!

Throughout the evening, you can immerse yourselves in a manipulated world of atmospheric sounds and ethereal images, which will interact with György Gáspárdy’s photo series *Venus*, shot in Japan. The happening takes place in our exhibition space.

“I’m a visual artist and DJ from Budapest who has always been drawn to the world of underground and club culture. So it comes naturally to me to be not just an outside observer in this world, but also a creator. Ever since I was a child, I’ve approached music as a selector: I collect, organize, and connect styles, artists, and tracks so that I always have the right soundtrack on hand for every mood.

In recent years, my mixes have been created not only in my home studio but also in clubs, at exhibitions, and at various art events. Musically, I move along the boundaries of old-school hip-hop, experimental electronica, and the underground soundscape. For this exhibition, I’m approaching the space from the perspective of ambient and experimental electronic music, accompanying it with slower, atmospheric soundscapes.”

⋆CHAAC aka Máté Lukács

CHAAC has existed in the overlap between classical and experimental ambient music since 2020. Through his self-released recordings, intermedia collaborations, and work as a composer for media, he seeks to synthesize sounds of organic and artificial origin and find their common ground, so that he can then communicate through them in his texture- and narrative-centric compositions.

“The projections will come to life through a blend of the photographs and haikus on display at the exhibition, supplemented by a looping video sequence featuring freely selected textures. These will be blended together live in an improvisational manner using my own sound recordings. I aim to convey the impact the photo series has had on me through the resulting soundscapes, while simultaneously stripping them of their original sources so that they can take on new roles during this process.” Máté Lukács

Our bar will once again be serving all kinds of delicacies throughout the evening, from cocktails to soft drinks.
