Schedule

This programme is held in English.

The new temporary exhibition opening in the House of Music in the spring of 2026, a show titled Freddie paying tribute to Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, will be accompanied by a number of related programs. Among the lectures, guided tours and concerts, Freddie’s favorite director, Rudi Dolezal, will also be here several times to remember his friend – perhaps the world’s most famous frontman – as part of a multimedia reading evening. We can learn even more details about their relationship, which he elaborated on in his book titled My Friend Freddie, and get even closer to the main character of the exhibition.

During the evening we will get to know previously unseen photos, unreleased videos and background stories about Freddie’s favorite director. Rudi, the director nominated twice for a Grammy, made 32 Queen videos, as well as most of Queen Productions’ international documentaries (“Magic Years”, “The Queen Phenomenon”, “Rare Live”, “Freddie Mercury – The Untold Story”), and also the very last interview Freddie ever gave in front of a camera – Freddie chose Rudi’s camera. At the end of the program, Rudi will also hold a Q&A session and a book signing.

In addition to Queen, Rudi Dolezal has worked with numerous global superstars:

The Rolling Stones, Bono/U2, Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, Whitney Houston, Billy Joel, Norah Jones, Bruce Springsteen, Tracy Chapman, Paulina Rubio, Bon Jovi, David Bowie, Lionel Richie, Blur, Oasis, System of a Down, Sarah Brightman, Jewel, Genesis, Elton John, N’Sync, Boyz II Men, José Carreras, George Michael, Garth Brooks, Liza Minnelli, Annie Lennox, Blondie, Wolfmother, Run DMC, The Strokes, Roxy Music, The Who, Dionne Warwick, Youssou N´Dour, Frank Zappa, Metallica.
