Sárkánygarbó, a shortlisted act for the Keret Kikeltető 2025 competition, performs on the Zene Háza Open-Air Stage. Sárkánygarbó is an acoustic singer-songwriter duo, composed of Petra Kóródi (guitar, vocals) and Emese Tóth (ukulele, vocals). In their lyric-driven songs, they sing about rural life, moving to Budapest, love, pain, and psychological anguish, all blended with motifs from folk songs. The group was recently joined by Bese Szórád, who uses multiple instruments to lighten the duo’s melancholic mood.
Sárkánygarbó has been performing at various cultural venues in Budapest for several years, and since the spring of 2025, they have been working on recording their first full-length album. The album—a symbol of moving away from the Great Plain and coming of age—is titled *Tiszán innen* and will be available on all streaming platforms starting January 10 (producer and arranger: Szórád Bese).
Although they’ve been playing music together for years, a significant milestone in the band’s formation was the 2024 NagyElőadó talent contest organized by the Bartók Quarter, where they first advanced to the semifinals out of 70 applicants, and then went on to perform in the finals held at Dürer Kert, where their third-place finish earned them a performance opportunity at the Valley of the Arts. Since the talent competition, they have performed at numerous venues across Budapest and have also had the opportunity to play as guests of Carson Coma.
