Lakatos György és tanítványai
JEGYEK

Schedule
At a concert featuring bassoonist György Lakatos and his students from the Academy of Music, an unusual lineup will take the stage at the Zene Háza Open-Air Theater: no fewer than seven (!) instruments—totaling seventeen meters in length—made of mountain maple, featuring 170 keys, spanning three and a half octaves, and capable of producing many thousands of notes ranging from the Renaissance to the twentieth century, in three to six parts. This is bound to be a diverse program!
György Lakatos graduated from the Academy of Music in 1987, where he has been teaching as an associate professor ever since; in addition, he has served as principal bassoonist for the Hungarian State Opera and the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra since 1985. In 1987, he was named Artist of the Year at the Opera House, and the following year he won first prize at the Hungarian Radio Bassoon Competition. Between 1993 and 1997, he received the Artisjus Award four times for his interpretations of Hungarian contemporary compositions. In 1996, he was awarded the Liszt Prize, and the following year he was an Eötvös Fellow in Paris. He has released numerous recordings both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. He has performed, competed, or taught in nearly every country in Europe, and has also toured in the United States and Israel.
