Aimee McCrory: Hullámvasút. Jelenetek egy házasságból
Aimee McCrory Hullámvasút: Jelenetek egy házasságból című díjnyertes sorozata az alkotó saját, több mint négy évtizedes házasságát állítja középpontba, feltárva az együtt öregedés örömeit és kihívásait. A sorozat őszinte és intim pillanatokon keresztül mutatja be a házasság dinamikáját, miközben finom humorral és méltósággal közelíti meg az öregedés témáját. A projekt a világjárvány idején kezdődött, amikor McCroryt megbénította a félelem, hogy elveszítheti férjét, Dont. E belső szorongásból született meg az a vizuális narratíva, amely az együtt töltött élet törékenységét és szépségét örökíti meg.

Program
Aimee McCrory’s award-winning series Roller Coaster: Scenes from a Marriage centers on the artist’s own marriage of over four decades, exploring the joys and challenges of growing old together. Through candid and intimate moments, the series presents the dynamics of marriage while approaching the theme of aging with subtle humor and dignity. The project began during the pandemic when McCrory felt immense fear of losing her husband, Don. From this inner anxiety emerged a visual narrative that captures the fragility and beauty of a life spent together.
As McCrory explained that, drawing on her theatrical background, she created the series in a “pseudo-documentary style.” Although the images depict staged scenes, they still feel lifelike. The series focuses on the small yet significant moments of everyday life. McCrory transforms reality in such a way that allows viewers to easily relate to the images and reflect on the dynamics of their own relationships.
The series also touches on the subject of aging, which is often overlooked or considered taboo in Western culture. McCrory draws attention to the beauty and challenges of old age, as well as the idea that aging does not necessarily equate to feelings of insignificance or abandonment. The 16 photographs on display in the PaperLab Gallery radiate both intimacy and universality, encouraging viewers to confront their own emotions and experiences.

Magyar Fotográfusok Háza - Mai Manó Ház
A nyolcszintes épület 1894-ben készült el, Mai Manó fotográfus megrendelésére. 1931-ben a fényképész fiától megvásárolta Rozsnyai Sándor zeneszerző és felesége Rozsnyai (született Senger) Mici, művésznevén „Miss Arizona”. Ők építették az addig üres udvarba a három szintes Arizona mulatót. Ez 1944-ig működött, amikor is a tulajdonosokat elhurcolták. A háború után az épület a legkülönfélébb célokat szolgálta, iskola, bemutatóterem volt, majd a Magyar Autóklub budapesti szervezete használta 30 éven át. A Magyar Fotográfiai Alapítvány 1996-tól kezdve tudta kivásárolni a bérleti jogokat a bent lakó bérlőktől. A félemeleti Mai Manó Galéria 1995-ben, a Magyar Fotográfusok Háza az I. és II. emeleten 1999. március 18-án nyílt meg benne. (Megnyitotta Nádas Péter író.)
