The Magashegyi Underground went from being an early discovery of Petőfi Radio to one of the most important bands in the Hungarian alternative music scene. The band was founded in 2004 by Máriusz Fodor, but it really found its true voice when singer Bíborka Bocskor joined the group: the songs she recorded with her, Szeplős Váll and Anglia, quickly made the group famous. Their style is unclassifiable: their urban folk music often has electronic influences, and despite their strong hit-making vein, they are not afraid of darker tones. They have released four albums to date (A Thousand Forests, 2010, The Day After Yesterday, 2013, The Sea Found, 2016, My Secret Life, 2020), and their radio songs (Metro Wire, Shake Up, Shadows, Rainy Day, Eyewords, Moonlight City) have given the group a steady presence and many invitations to perform.
