From 14 January, the roof-to-roof renovation of the House of Music's unique, ever-changing cinema space, the Hangdome, will be open for full programme hours, transforming the hemispherical screen into a real spatial experience. To celebrate the reopening, a major audiovisual programme, DOME_RELOAD, will be held from 14-19 January, with a series of RE_LIVE screenings and a premiere screening of The Mysterious City Park, accompanied by a public meeting.

Perhaps one of György Ligeti's best-known compositions is his Symphonic Poem for 100 Metronomes, whose visual aesthetic will leave a deep impression on anyone who has seen it. It is no coincidence that this piece was also played at the time of his final farewell. The work is hypnotic and provokes deep reflections on time, existence and our relationship with the universe. The Symphonic Poem is also a critique of György Ligeti's contemporary musical milieu and the radical composers who saw themselves as such. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of György Ligeti's birth, we start the 100 metronomes on the screen of the Hangdóm, according to the instructions of the composer, and listen from the centre of the magical space as the clicks run out of time, together or separately, until they are silenced.
