For the third time in a row, we have a guest speaker - Bálint Szabó Gosheven is still to come. Besides being one half of the 12z band, Bálint is also a PhD student at MOME. His research interests include microtonality and non-European sound systems. And not to be scary, but to make it very understandable for people who are not at all interested in music theory, he will approach the topic from a very practical point of view, with lots of musical illustrations! In other words, this is not a theoretical lecture, but a discussion and listening to music in a very accessible way on this very exciting subject.
After the lecture there will be a concert! This time Zsolt Sőrés, Ottó Horváth, Gergely Kovács will play.

In addition to the many improvisation concerts, we thought that many people might be interested in the theoretical background of this elusive musical method and practice, the history of the genres based on it - what is it all about?
How can we even talk about it?
Perhaps not everyone knows, but one of our regular performers, Péter Ajtai, is a bassist, a bandleader and a teacher, and improvisation itself is a major theme in his teaching.
Based on the lessons and success of the monthly performance so far, we've taken the format a bit more informal and conversational - so we're defining it more as a seminar.
There is no admission fee for the class, but donations are accepted. This is to support our speakers and our programmes!
A suggested donation is one or two thousand forints, but donate according to your means and enthusiasm. Thank you
