2025-04-26T22:00:00.000Z - 2025-05-02T22:00:00.000Z
Opera in three acts, in Italian, with Hungarian, English and Italian subtitles
Length: 3 hours 20 minutes, with 2 intermissions.
The story of Cho-Cho-San and Pinkerton is one of the most tragic love stories ever told. In the story of the Butterfly Woman, who believes that a “temporary marriage” is a real emotional and legal bond, the only way out is death after the last shred of hope has been lost. Of the work that inspired the libretto, it has been said that ‘if the drama were not set in an exotic location far from us, the pain would be unbearable.’ For opera lovers, Puccini's magnificent music takes the tragedy to cathartic heights.

The richly decorated interior was designed by renowned Hungarian artists, including Mór Than, Károly Lotz and Bertalan Székely.
