Fran de Ochova

The Budapest-based road rock band Fran de Ochova was formed almost two years ago and plans to record an album of their English-language songs in the near future, entitled Riding on the Hills. The genre designation "road rock" is the band's own invention: it refers to the kind of songs that you would like to hear on the radio during a long drive, evoking a bit of the atmosphere of the American Route 66 in a European guise.
The band's thirteen songs range from more lyrical pieces to more upbeat, hard-hitting themes, so there's something to catch almost everyone's attention.

In terms of subject matter, the lyrics touch on themes of personal destiny, reckoning, confession, love and sometimes social commentary, and the riffs are light and catchy. The structural arrangements basically follow the familiar conventions of hard rock and pop rock, with a few twists and flourishes.
The four-piece band's first spring concert will be held in one of Budapest's most atmospheric and popular garden venues, the Tütü Tango Garden.
