Canadian Timber Timbre, the folk, chamber pop, Americana outfit of singer-guitarist-keyboardist-songwriter Taylor Kirk, complete with frequently rotating accompanists, will debut in Hungary with their latest album 2023, the clean Lovage tour, reminiscent of their hit albums of the 2010s.

Schedule

Taylor Kirk started Timber Timbre in 2005, initially releasing acoustic, folk blues, Americana, bare-bones records, and as the group became more well-known and successful (with many guest and backing musicians), the instrumentation became richer and the sound more varied. An untitled album in 2009 was his breakthrough, and the gothic folk of 2011's Creep On Creepin' On was a good call to Nick Cave, Johnny Cash and Wovenhand. And 2014's widely acclaimed Hot Dreams featured some masterful instrumentation. 2017's Sincerely, Future Pollution changed the dusty tempo for a slightly groovier, more art-pop sound that also boldly incorporated synths, followed by a bigger break, during which Kirk became active as a producer. The latest album, released after six years, added to the Leonard Cohen sounds already present on Timber Timbre with a new twist. The protagonist talks about the influence of Brian Wilson, Sun Ra and Italian songwriters.
