COMMON TREASURE - April's theme: EARTH
a monthly community free school in Budapest’s 8th district

Schedule
Common Treasure is a series of events grounded in tangible knowledge-sharing, guided by the principles of accessible education, free artistic inquiry, and cultural diversity. We learn from each other, and we teach each other—creating space for our collective knowledge to become part of a wider district-level and community-driven movement.
APRIL’S THEME: EARTH
Do we care for the Earth the way it truly deserves?
What can we do, both individually and collectively, to ensure that the ecosystem, climate, flora and fauna—both living and non-living, ancient and yet-to-come—of our shared home planet may exist in peace, unity, and health?
Recycling? Composting? Balcony gardening? Community gardens? Alternative modes of transportation? Cooperative housing? Ecological footprints? Zero waste? Let’s explore the possibilities together—and turn ideas into action.
More details coming soon!
What we do know for sure is that we won’t be staying inside the whole time: we’ll head over to the nearby Kőris Community Garden to discover the initiative and immediately put our freshly acquired knowledge into practice—on the ground, literally.

About the series:
Common Treasure is an open “self-education circle,” where each month, participants and guest speakers share knowledge and raise questions around a different theme. The format embraces a wide range of activities—from learning songs and dances together, to women’s self-defense classes, recipe sharing, film recommendations, sustainable household and permaculture practices, understanding hormonal cycles, or hands-on re- and upcycling workshops.
Got something you know or love doing that you’d like to share?
Become one of our contributors! After all, one of your neighbors might be looking for exactly what you have to offer.
We meet every last Friday of the month, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at STEREO Művház.
The program is supported by the Municipality of Józsefváros, District VIII of Budapest.
STEREO Workshop
STEREO Workshop is a new cultural hub and community space in Budapest’s vibrant and diverse 8th District. The Workshop is a socially engaged, community-focused, contemporary cultural center.
It’s an incubation house and meeting space, with a rehearsal hall and co-working office for all those who need a welcoming and inspiring environment for their artistic, creative or community work.
The Workshop will primarily host performing arts creative processes, but we aim to provide a home for any project with a focus on contemporary culture and community.
