Alexander Abreu and the Havana D’Primera
Havana D'Primera is the most popular band of the new generation of Cuban musicians and the most successful Cuban band in the world. Founded by Alexander Abreu in 2007, the group, in addition to being at the forefront of modern music that has evolved from salsa, also known as timba, has proven that traditional styles can be perfectly combined with modern instrumentation, the best example of which is the song "Venenosa", which was featured on our 2015 album La Vuelta el Mundo and has since become one of the most popular songs in the Son genre.

Schedule
The 17-piece band has enjoyed unbroken success since its formation. The band's leader and main songwriter is trumpeter Aleaxander Abreu, a Latin Grammy-winning artist known for his unique, powerful and sophisticated vocal voice and highly skilled musician, thanks to his trumpet. Their repertoire includes salsa, jazz, funk and Afro-Cuban fusion rhythms.
Since its inception, the band has released six studio albums. Following the release of their debut album Haciendo Historia in 2009 and their unexpectedly rapid and unquestionable success in the island nation and internationally, 2012's Pasaporte - whose title track gained worldwide recognition and popularity within weeks - was well received by the international press and was voted one of the best Latin music albums of the year by NPR listeners.
The first album pays homage to the great musicians of the past right from the first track, as "Resumen de los 90" pays tribute to the music of the '90s. This emotional tribute to the artists and milestones of Cuban music history is expressed and expressed in every moment of Alexander Abreu's work. The soft melody and sophisticated orchestration of "Mi Música" and "Cuando el Río Suena" will immediately touch the heart of anyone who is open to or loves Cuban music. And the dynamics of "Oni, Oni" have been a constant call to the dance floor ever since. In fact, it has been chosen by world-renowned Cuban dance artists such as Yanek Revilla and Sabor DKY (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMod4O0hfDQ) or Alberto Valdes and Clave Negra for their choreographies.
The album Pasaporte also includes two compositions that are already considered evergreen, such as the less positive but all the more beautiful "Al Final de La Vida" or the "El Paso de la Bailerina", which is based on modern rhythms.
This was followed by a particularly strong lead single, "Mi Dicen Cuba", which was the precursor to the aforementioned album La Vuelta Al Mundo, released in 2015, and which was a huge success when it was nominated for a Latin Grammy in the category "Best Salsa Album" that year. The same album also featured, among others, "La Peligrosa", which has since been considered a hit song by salsa disc jockeys and dance schools around the world.
The last album of the pre-pandemic period, Cantor del Pueblo, was released in early 2018 and received the band's second Latin Grammy nomination in the same year. The best-known song from that CD, "Tres Diás", has since enjoyed unbroken success, just as it's hard to imagine Cuban Fiestas without "Pastilla de Menta". The album closes with "Lamento Yoruba", which once again demonstrates a deep-seated respect for Cuban music and religious history.
In 2021, fans were treated to a very special album. More songs than ever before - 20 in total - were included on this disc and, in addition to their own new songs, they also returned to classics such as "Nube Pasajera", "Mi Salsa" and "Más Rollo Que Película". Of course, Alexander Abreu has approached each of these songs in the same way that we have come to expect from him: retaining the character of the original songs, with just a tiny bit of flavour and a hint of spice, just enough to make the evergreen melodies sound like themselves in the musical experience.
The concert in June 2025 could also be the anniversary of the band's last album, as "Pueblo Griffo" was released two years and one day before the date of the concert. The title track has enjoyed uninterrupted popularity since its release and the album is of the same standard as Havana D'Primera.
The latest single was released in November 2024 and "La Bandera" is already one of the hits of the year, with a video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsHG314h7o4
On June 10, 2025, you will be able to see and hear live the miracle that no one else can do, but Alexander Abreu and Havana D'Primera.
