Vtoroi Ka
Carnival post-punk – Vtoroi Ka in Budapest for the first time!
One of Kyrgyzstan's most exciting musical groups, Vtoroi Ka from Bishkek, will finally play in Budapest for the first time on October 22nd on the Instant stage.
Vtoroi Ka – that is, Sultan and Ilya, the two self-proclaimed “govnyuk” (literally translated as “shithead”) – reinterpret post-Soviet nostalgia, 1980s post-punk, and the wild romanticism of the 1990s in a colorful, ironic, and party-oriented way. Their latest album, Svinaya Poputka, evokes the mood of Joy Division, only more cheerful, louder, and even more Eastern European – it doesn't take itself seriously, it's simple but ironic, while tackling serious topics.

Schedule
The band's songs touch on topics such as the world of online sex work, troubled teenage years, the wild bandit romanticism of the 1990s, and the desire to escape and have fun in a grotesque yet lovable post-Soviet reality.
Svinaya Poputka's songs (such as Teni ot pal’m, Tonirovannyi Kaban, and Dura) already have cult status in the Russian underground. Their music videos are entertaining, spectacular, and surreal—Alice in Wonderland, but in Central Asia, with neon lights and synthesizers.

A Vtoroi Ka concert is not just a musical experience: it is an audiovisual chaos cabaret, where every song is a new world and where post-punk liberates.
