Schedule

Takuya Kuroda, the jazz trumpet player of Japanese descent, who now lives in New York, is no stranger to the Müpa Budapest audience, as he previously appeared here as a guest of Lőrinc Barabás. He has also performed with his band in Veszprém, and even collaborated on a song by the Hungarian outfit Mörk. He made a name for himself with his third album, the jazz-funk and nu-jazz disc entitled Rising Son released in 2014. Kuroda has been experimenting with these genres – and crossing them with others – ever since. The result mostly comes under the categories of soul jazz, afro jazz and afrobeat, like his sixth LP, Fly Moon Die Soon, from 2020, which also flirts with neo soul and hiphop. For his first Budapest concert with a full band, he brings with him his latest album, Everyday. Put out in 2025, it crosses over boundaries to allow Kuroda to show off his modern side alongside his spiritual jazz leanings.
