Schedule

Siamese Isolated –, aka Peter Müller's Joy Division –, recalls the legendary band's magical repertoire on March 6 at Dürer Garden. The Joy Division (Joy Squad = Camp Brothel), formerly Warsaw’s Salford (Manchester) rock band, existed from 1976 to 1980, until the death of singer-composer Ian Curtis. During this time, he has grown into the most defining post-punk band of all time. They composed unbeatable, poetic, brutal, sometimes rather Gothic songs such as Love Will Tear Us Apart, Isolation, She’s Lost Control, They walked in Line. Their first studio album, Unknown Pleasures, was released in 1979, and the second and final two months after his suicide, in July 1980. The singer, struggling with epilepsy and depression, tied up on the eve of the start of their first American tour. He left a lasting oeuvre behind. During the band’s short operation, they won the NME Award in the “God-Blessed Genius” category and were later nominated for the BRIT Awards in the Best Single of the Last Twenty-Five Years category.

Location

Dürer Garden

Recently moved from its original location, the Dürer is a staple of Budapest's metal scene. But don't be scared, it's worth a visit even if you just want to have a couple of drinks by the Danube. From spring, of course.
