Mammal Hands
Mini jazz festival at the House of Music on April 16-17! New jazz on the horizon – Two days of jazz in the House is primarily for jazz fans, but we usually favor all music lovers by saying that two of the genre's contemporary cannons – can be viewed on consecutive days.

Schedule
Gondwana Records, founded by trumpet player Matthew Halsall and one of the most significant publishers of 21st century British jazz, has released albums from Mammal Hands over the past decade. The saxophone piano-drum line-up formation is decisive on the contemporary jazz scene with its minimalist sound and hypnotic compositions.
After the introduction of the trio in Hungary in 2024, –, while its new album Circadia will soon be released, this time – will return to Hungary at the legendary ACT label, now for a standing concert. Of course, even so, you have to try to buy tickets because the seats are limited.
The Mammal Hands chamber jazz is determined by the minimalist approach (Michael Nyman is a good handrail), the ambient, ECM-style contemporary sound. So far, five equally strong and well-received albums can be listed next to their names, but the sixth will soon arrive, which will also appear at a concert at the House of Music. An ethereal, pastoral, peaceful sound world characterizes the trio built around the Smart Brothers. Keyboardist Nick Smart and saxophonist Jordan Smart also have a great progressive electronic side project called Sunda Arc, but their former famous publisher has other well-known pull names in Hungary (concerted at the House of Music with Svaneborg Kardybb, Matthew Halsall, GoGo Penguin, Portico Quartet, or just pianist Hania Ranics) also show relatives. Fans of their peculiar sound world are such defining taste-shapers as Bonobo, Jamie Cullum or just Gilles Peterson.
