Nyitott Stúdió Vass Imre vezetésével

2026-01-19T18:00:00.000Z

Every Monday, once a month, Trafó opens its dance studio on Liliom Street to anyone who loves to move. Each time, a different choreographer or dancer shares some of their favorite exercises with those interested. The goal is not necessarily to learn a choreography, but to move together, recharge, learn from each other, and have fun. The workshop is free, but space is limited, so be sure to register your interest quickly at the following email address: [email protected]

Schedule

Imre Vass's thoughts on the workshop:

"I warmly welcome everyone to the Open Studio. Before the MMXXV weekend premiere, we will have the opportunity to meet and get a taste of the performance material within the framework of Adult Swim. In these short two hours, we will examine our relationship with intimacy, lose ourselves in undulating movements, hip swings, or even each other's gaze, connecting with ourselves, each other, and our surroundings on a sensual level.

Adult Swim invites us into a space where we dive headfirst into the deep end, intoxicated by improvisation and imbued with an uninhibited dance experience. In a playful and sweaty setting, it encourages us to explore and experience our physical, emotional, and sensual selves. Finding our center, we dive into ourselves, then dance our way out of our movement and physical boundaries, carefully and gently increasing our lung capacity, mobility, and imagination as we venture beyond our comfort zone.

Adult Swim is an experimental dance class for adults (18+) currently in development, which invites you to share experiences, explore and dance carefree. No previous dance training is required for the class.

I recommend that you come in clothes that are comfortable, that you feel good in, perhaps colorful, but in any case inspiring and energizing for your dance... and if you've read this far, please bring a medium-sized piece of fabric with you, which could be a scarf, a shawl, a thin bath towel, or a sarong.

Imre Vass is a performer and freelance artist who wanders between the fields of dance, choreography, and performance. His work is inspired and defined by self-reflection, insights and pitfalls related to the objects and qualities of perception and sensation. His toolkit includes playing with expectations, humor, and flirting with ambiguity and unambiguity, as well as an inter-, sub-, infra-, trans-, ultra-, and de-disciplinary approach that seeks to transcend genre boundaries. His performance IITTHOONN (2019), created in collaboration with Dávid Somló, won the Péter Halász Award, while Game Changer (2021), created in collaboration with Tamara Zsófia Vadas and Csaba Molnár, won the Rudolf Lábán and Péter Halász Awards.
