The actions are solidarity demonstrations to raise awareness of housing poverty, homelessness and mass food waste: we want people to know that a lot of things are working in a wrong way within this social/economic system and we face these problems day by day when we step out on the streets: we see poverty, starvation, homelessness and the growth of housing difficulties. With our activity, we not only try to reflect on these problems but we stand in solidarity with all our poorest and downtrodden human beings as well, because we believe that the right to food and housing are basic human rights!

•●• ON SATURDAY •●•�#FoodGathering�Start: 2:00 PM�Locations: �Central Market Hall: Budapest, Vámház krt. 1-3., 9th district�Fehérvári street Market Hall: Budapest, Kőrösy József u. 7-9., 11th district
We want to save as much food as possible from rotting, so we're going to the markets. If you have some stronger bags, please bring them to the market action for carrying the vegetables and fruits!�We ask you to follow the event because market coordinators will indicate here that who you can look for if you have any other questions or if you don't know where the team is etc. If you know you can join us for the collection, leave a comment, so we can count on you.
How can you help at the action?�- Collecting veggies and fruits�- Separating and washing commodities, preparing them for the Sunday action
•●• ON SUNDAYS •●•�#CommunityCooking�Start: 10:00 AM�Location: Auróra, Auróra street 11. (during bad weather we are inside the bar, during good weather we are outside next to Auróra’s main building at the garden behind the blueish/greenish iron door at the corner – just pull it, it will be open!)
We cook several vegetarian/vegan meals from the collected veggies & fruits for people in need and those who appear at our distribution. After the food is done, we also taste our work’s result. Please check the actual weekend event before you come, because until Saturday afternoon the coordinator for Sunday will post it’s phone number so you can contact the person if you have questions. We have everything what’s needed for the cooking, only bring yourself!
How can you help at cooking?�- Preparing the raw food (chopping/cutting the veggies)�- Sorting the plastic dishes�- Washing up, tidying up (if we have time before the distribution)
#FoodSharing�Start: 4:00 PM�Location: Boráros square, Blaha Lujza square/Alföldi street
Around 3:00 pm we discuss and decide the tasks and roles out at the food sharing, so even if you would like to join only for that part of the action, please come to the Auróra (Auróra street 11.) at least until 3:00 pm.
During the food distribution you can help us in the following ways:�- Serving soup�- Sharing the main course�- Offering salads�- Sharing spoons�- IF we get cakes/cookies, then distribute that as well�- Sharing any other donation Food Not Bombs gets�•●•DONATIONS•●•�We accept donations every Sunday between 10.00 and 15.30 az Auróra.�Our crew is maintaining its activity because of the community, because of you. We gladly accept everything that’s needed for the cooking and distribution: spices in bigger amounts, oil, salt, pasta, rice, tin veggies, dish soap, sponge, scrubber, rubbish bag, candies-bakery food in bigger amounts (in already portioned condition!). We always accept plastic boxes if their size is normal or bigger, if they are already washed and have tops. We can not use glass jars though.
