FAMILY MORNING – In search of Maja's medicinal herbs

2026-03-07T09:30:00.000Z

This time, the children's program and the guided tour for parents are related to the exhibition Golden Repair – Fine Joints.

Have you heard of the Caribbean region? Did you know that the Maya also lived there?

Now we are going to see a very exciting installation that will transport us to Mexico, to the Yucatán Peninsula, specifically to the city of Playa del Carmen. We will learn about the heritage of the Mayan culture, which dates back thousands of years, its artistic legacy, and its medicinal plants. In Mária Chilf's installation, we will see photos of the descendants of the Mayans, the indigenous people of Mexico who live there today, with whom she collaborated on the project.

During the program, we will draw and collage Mayan and Hungarian medicinal plants from textiles, which will be included in the small book we will create during the workshop. Together, we will draw Mayan cult figures and buildings on large sheets of paper placed on the wall. During the program, everyone will make a small book individually, in which we will make textile collages, colorful drawings, and supplemented copies.

If you would like to participate, please indicate your intention to do so by 12:00 noon on the day before the program at [email protected]!

If you forgot to register, you can inquire about available spots at the ticket office between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (06 1 555 3454).
