FREE TURBINA! – Protest for the freedom of culture ♡

Schedule

On March 4, the authorities shut down the Turbina Cultural Center for a month based on a simple claim: someone somewhere alleged that they had purchased an illegal substance here – even though the police have never identified any unlawful activity on our premises, and we have always organized culture for a wide audience in full compliance with the rules.

Not only did they pull the ground out from under more than a hundred of our employees and helpers overnight, but they also deprived thousands of people of the chance to dance, attend concerts, play board games, workshops, roundtable discussions, film screenings, self-development and creative programs, and songwriting sessions at our venue.

Closing community spaces does not solve real problems – but it can very quickly destroy the cultural fabric of a city. That is why we are standing up together now, to make sure this does not happen.

We invite everyone to Városháza Park who believes in free culture.

Performers and details coming soon ♡

Anyone who has a fond memory connected to Turbina – and of course anyone who does not yet, but would like to stand up for a free and independent cultural space – we ask you to support our survival here:
