Co Lee: Without wires // Müpa (Festival Theather)
Nodding to jazzy beats and speaking the language of inner-city youth with visceral naturalness, Co Lee has built a very strong foundation in the underground hip hop scene in recent years. In 2022, he rapped in English on his debut album with Don C, Air, and the song Iceberg with Beatrick brought him international success, but in February 2023 he released his first Hungarian-language album, Cirque de L'Homme. As part of the Hey, June! festival series, he will perform mainly songs from this first Hungarian-language album.

Schedule
Co Lee creates with punkish honesty. Speaking in both English and Hungarian, the rapper has a cleverly undulating voice that is independent of trends. Having started rapping in an American school in Vienna as a high school student, Co Lee, with his unique rhythm, innovative lyricism and outstanding performing skills, was joined on last year's hit Iceberg by Gorillaz producer John Foyle, who also worked on the song's Gorillaz albums - a song that quickly became popular in Austria and Germany. After the April 2022 release of his lo-fi hiphop album Air with Don C, he joined the alternative experimental hiphop collective Wavy, and after a tour with Beton.Hofi, he started to release his Hungarian-language songs, which were used to create his first Hungarian album Cirque de L'Homme. In addition to the songs of the album, which is a reference to the artist's studies, the evening will also feature instrumental arrangements of his rarely heard English-language songs, which will be performed in this form for the first time.
