Concerts, Architectural Workshop, and French Gastronomy Fair

On July 15th, the French Institute will organize its traditional street party in the square in front of the building, featuring an architectural workshop and a music and dance celebration in honor of the French National Day. This year, the festive atmosphere will be heightened by the French Fair: you can taste raclette, cheese, pastries, wine, and other delicacies!

Schedule

■ From 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the 𝐊𝐨̈𝐳𝐌𝐮̋ – Közös Műhely Szövetkezet will hold an architectural and DIY workshop for children and adults. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Gustav Eiffel's death, the central theme of the creative workshop will be the Eiffel Tower.

■ From 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, we can start dancing to the concert of the French pianist, performing under the stage name 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐧 𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐫.

■ From 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the band 𝐄𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐞 will perform for us. Their music boldly combines the worlds of jazz, chanson, and Latin, incorporating various elements of world music. The singers, Caussanel Izabella and Orbay Lilla, will sing in Hungarian, French, and English.

■ From 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐏 will mix a House set.

■ Finally, at 11:00 PM, 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐭 will take the turntables with a House disco set, featuring French influences, of course.

The event is free of charge.

French Institute

Founded in 1947, the French Institute of Hungary is one of the oldest foreign cultural centres in Budapest. The Institute was first located in Szekfű Street, and since 1992 it has been located in Fő Street, on the Buda side.

The multi-disciplinary cultural centre has a language school and examination centre, a media bar, a cinema room, an information corner on studying in France, a bookshop and a café on the ground floor.

By fostering educational, scientific, inter-university and cultural cooperation, the French Institute in Hungary aims to strengthen links between Hungary and France and to promote the free flow of ideas and opinions.
