Nuova Generazione Jazz - Simone Basile Quintet

While all the songs are inspired by the power and spiritual dimension of Indian ragas, the oriental musical elements are filtered through the Puglian guitarist's ever enriching artistic perspective. Basile has assembled a quintet of outstanding young musicians from the European jazz scene: multi-award-winning Italian saxophonist Manuel Caliumi tours Europe with his trio Hack Out, Santiago Fernandez has proven himself at several international festivals, bassist Ferdinando Romano has played in Opus and other European cities with his Totem band, and Giovanni Paolo Liguori is considered one of the most promising young drummers.
