Sára Tímár singer is a Young Master of Folk Art. Her name rings a bell in the Hungarian folk and world music scene, as she has been an active member of numerous musical formations for many years. In addition to her band, which plays both authentic folk and world music, she has been performing with the Sebő ensemble since 2009. And she is looking for creative possibilities of folk singing as the founder of the Dalinda ensemble.

Sára Tímár's band has been playing together for almost 15 years, since 2009. They have all been involved in folk music since they were children. They have honed their skills in school, at dance halls, music camps and on collecting trips, learning from old masters. The members of the orchestra were students of folk music at the Academy of Music at about the same time, and have degrees in performing arts and teaching, but they also have ethnography, publishing economics and instrument making behind their instruments.

The members of the orchestra boast numerous competition results, scholarships, 3 Junior Prima Awards, 3 Young Master of Folk Art titles, and Dániel Szabó and Tamás Nyitrai are both recipients of the Golden Cross of Merit of the Republic of Hungary.

They consider it important to pass on folk music not only through authentic performances but also by teaching it in primary art schools, secondary and higher education institutions.

In addition to folk music, they also make excursions into other musical genres: they take part in classical, blues and world music projects; and they are members of countless ensembles and orchestras.

Location

A38 Ship

Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
