One of today's best-known international star tenors was born and educated in Poland, but soon continued his studies in Switzerland, starting his career in the opera houses of Linz and Zurich. In the early 2000s, Piotr Beczała's name was soon recognised by audiences in all the major theatres of Europe, and in 2006 he made his debut at the San Francisco Opera and the Metropolitan in New York, where he has been a regular guest ever since. Her popularity is due not only to the beauty of her voice, but also to the commitment she brings to every role she performs. In addition to her extensive operatic repertoire, she is a regular soloist in operettas and choral works. Many of her performances are available on recordings and film, and she also regularly produces thematic CDs, with her album Slavic Opera Arias being named the best recording of 2011 by Opera News. The Polish singer was first seen at the Erkel Theatre in the role of the Prince of Mantua in Verdi's Rigoletto, and later performed at various opera galas in Budapest. After a series of large-scale performances, he returns to the stage of the Opera House in the intimate Stárestes with piano series.
Hungarian State Opera
The Hungarian State Opera House is the only theatre in Hungary with a large company, specialising in operas and ballets. The building is one of Budapest's most important 19th century monuments. It was built in neo-Renaissance style according to the plans of Miklós Ybl. The richly decorated interior was designed by renowned Hungarian artists, including Mór Than, Károly Lotz and Bertalan Székely.
