This Vienna of ours is an artists' mill in the truest sense of the word, in fact the largest artists' mill in the world, in which, year after year, art and artists alike are pulverised and ground to powder, no matter what the art or the artist, the Vienna artists' mill is a total mill. What is curious is that people jump into this mill of their own free will, which then totally overwhelms them, and in certain circumstances they will not do anything else for the rest of their lives, they will fight with incredible vehemence to finally jump into this mill, formally killing each other to see who will jump into this mill first, which then totally overwhelms them.

The production is based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Bernhard.
