Mozart's opera is a fairy tale for adults. The fairy-tale elements, the rehearsals of Tamino and Pamina, the laugh-out-loud scenes of Papageno and, not least, Mozart's magical music are perfect for bringing children closer to the world of opera. All it takes is the right presentation. János Lackfi, an excellent poet and practising father, has helped us to reimagine and rewrite The Magic Flute especially for younger children. We are ready to entertain the little ones on the stage!
Hungarian State Opera
The Hungarian State Opera House is the only theatre in Hungary with a large company, specialising in operas and ballets. The building is one of Budapest's most important 19th century monuments. It was built in neo-Renaissance style according to the plans of Miklós Ybl. The richly decorated interior was designed by renowned Hungarian artists, including Mór Than, Károly Lotz and Bertalan Székely.
