Auróra birthday

2023-11-16T17:00:00.000Z

9 years ago, many of us were still children. We went to school, watched a story in the afternoon, and wrote a test the next morning. We thought the whole world was against us, that we had it the hardest, and then it probably was. Further education, tests, parental pressure, lack of pocket money, first love and first disappointment. A few years later, on the threshold of adulthood, we realised that nothing had got easier. In our search for a way forward, we found ourselves behind the heavy and cunningly matted iron gates of Aurora. With many more beers behind us, we're still sitting in the Aurora looking for answers.

Schedule

9 years ago, many of us were growing up as kids, finishing school, eagerly looking for our first job (for some it might have been Aurora) In the panic of opening the door, we anxiously drank beer, which was important to be cheap... and on tap... and pints... and pints... and steins... and then obviously Au. We rolled the cigarettes and as we picked the tobacco out of our mouths we talked about how to change the world or at least the country or at least ourselves. We argued until we didn't even notice it was closing time again. A few years later, after many a night in the courtyard of the Aurora (persistently even in winter), we can't imagine what it was like when it wasn't there.

9 years ago, many of us didn't know where we would be or who we would be today. The car park first became a pub, then a climate garden. Only the imprint of the circular stage is now visible on the concrete slab of the courtyard. The old chairs have been repainted. Then we painted them again. Finally, the old chairs, which had been repainted many times, were replaced by new ones. Bands chasing their dreams suddenly outgrew the basement, giving way to new bands chasing their dreams. We drank our first and last rounds, while creating our collective stable base alongside the events outside the gate.

With all the changes, we were also sure... we'd meet at Aurora.
