Formed at the end of 2017, The California Nightmares have moved away from their initial surf punk lineage and now straddle the borderline between stoner rock/grunge/garage rock genres, complementing it with a core sound of psychedelic rock and metal. Their songs draw inspiration from different life situations, for example reflecting on social challenges from a youth perspective and holding up a mirror to the audience by presenting a hypothetical/imaginary vision of the future.
True to its name, the band nods madly towards both alternative rock and punk to create a distinctive flavour in its music. The band has officially been around since the end of 2018, which also brought the final line-up.
The band representing the grunge/alternative rock genre was formed in early 2021 and since then they have released two singles entitled Shameful Delight and Torture Device. The quartet, consisting of Tamás Iklódi (guitar/vocals), Gergely Koronczy (bass/vocals), Ádám Petróczi-Farkas (guitar) and Nikosz Tasos (drums), worked with Hungarian Artisjus award-winning sound engineer and producer Károlly Paczári on their material.
