Schedule
"The Hungarian movement schools and workshops that discovered and exploited the natural beauty, health and harmony of the body and its expressive power in the first half of the last century were closely linked to the international trends that founded modern dance. However, this independent and progressive artistic and pedagogical movement could not flourish in Hungary, because the "moderns" were promoting social and pedagogical ideals that went far beyond the boundaries of dance. As a result, they never achieved a leading role in Hungarian cultural life, and by the end of the 1940s their activities had become impossible. Contemporary dance today cannot therefore be the direct heirs of this artistic, pedagogical and theoretical legacy, but perhaps an attempt can be made to revive in today's bodies the knowledge that we thought had been lost forever."
