Schedule
As part of supporting the mission of the House of Music Hungary, the Fringe program launched in 2024. Through an open call announced in three categories, we provide performance opportunities at various locations throughout the House for emerging musicians and amateur bands at the beginning of their careers, as well as for street musicians, music schools, and music workshops. In the Take the Stage! series, talented emerging musicians and amateur music groups (bands, vocal ensembles, mixed formations, etc.) who are at the start of their careers and have had little opportunity to introduce themselves to a wider audience perform. This time, the Keptár Band will perform on the Outdoor Stage.
Keptár Band is a Moldavian folk music ensemble from Pécs, founded in 2019, where four close friends perform together. They primarily play Moldavian folk music at Moldavian dance house events in Pécs and across the Transdanubian region. Their repertoire also includes music for choreographies and musical adaptations of poems, all characterized by Moldavian folk music foundations and Moldavian instrumentation. The band's goal is to promote Moldavian culture, traditions, folk music, and folk dance throughout the Carpathian Basin.
