Alela Diane (USA) | the Hackles (USA)

One of the most unique voices in contemporary folk, Alela Diane will perform in Budapest for the first time, on the stage of the House of Hungarian Music, to present her latest album, Who’s Keeping Time?, to be released in May 2026. In the early 2000s, with her album The Pirate’s Gospel, the singer-songwriter burst onto the contemporary folk and indie-folk scene; encouraged by Joanna Newsom, she first stepped on stage, became a member of the indie-folk duo Headless Heroes, and in addition to her own solo material – such as the excellent 2009 album To Be Still – she has also been involved in numerous collaborative records. Her songs have appeared in TV series such as The Walking Dead, and she has featured on tribute albums for artists like Queens Of The Stone Age and Townes Van Zandt. We will hear her in Hungary for the first time, with fresh songs and classics alike.
