Schedule
DOUBLE CONCERT:
6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
The BJC Big Band is celebrating its ninth anniversary with a double concert at the Budapest Jazz Club. British saxophonist Paul Booth from Angila will join them as a soloist.
Paul Booth is one of the most sought-after saxophonists in the UK; he has been a regular member of Steve Winwood’s band for over a decade, and throughout his career he has also performed with Steely Dan, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Van Morrison, Chaka Khan, Jamiroquai, and Rod Stewart. He is a permanent member of Incognito and TRYPL.
There’s also a special story behind this anniversary. Nine years ago, in October 2017, a British trumpeter was the guest at the band’s first concert: Ryan Quigley. It was a sold-out show, and thousands watched the live stream. Now he’s returning to the stage where it all began.
The third returning guest is Matt Yardley, a London-based trumpeter and the acclaimed lead trumpeter of the West London theater scene.
