Schedule
The Baló Sámuel Trio approaches the world of contemporary jazz through open forms, collective improvisation, and intense mutual attentiveness. Their music is rooted in the traditions of jazz, while Sámuel’s compositions are opened up by elements of free improvisation and complemented by song-like, improvised interludes. The focus is on creating a varied and exciting musical texture through form-shaping born in the moment and dynamic musical communication.
The special feature of this concert is that the piano-double bass-drums trio has invited as guest artist the Slovenian saxophonist Luka Zabric, who lives and works in Copenhagen. During previous joint concerts, Zabric’s openness and individual musical thinking have already steered the musical processes in new directions, opening fresh perspectives in the development of the ensemble’s interaction and the evolving musical texture.
