Schedule
Bori Rutkai and Speckó Jedno blend elements of funk, jazz, and underpop, but their songs also feature blues, tango, rap, and chanson-inspired vibes. Formed in the early 2000s, the band features singer Bori Rutkai, pianist Zoltán Mizsei, bassist Dániel Szerető, wind instrumentalist János Nemes, and drummer Csaba Németh. Bori’s lyrics are like picturesque fairy tales for adults, filled with witty humor and a playful use of sounds and words. Musically, the band weaves together pleasantly groovy funk, concrete-totem blues, and starry-forest ambient sounds. With the exception of the pianist, the band also performs together in Bori’s children’s band, so adult audiences can get a sense of the group’s spirit and sound through the Rutkai Bori Banda as well. At this outdoor summer evening concert, in addition to songs from the 2013 album *Anticity* and the 2009 album *Whatevergreens*, new surprise tracks are also expected.
