"The Slow Burn Drifters blend elements of alternative indie, gothic Americana, and dream pop into emotionally charged songs that could easily serve as the soundtrack to your life."
Slow Burn Drifters marks the latest chapter in the musical evolution of American singer-songwriter Matt Boroff, who performs under the pseudonym Ray Vale. Over the course of his decade-long career, he has opened for such renowned acts as Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Calexico, and Kyuss. Throughout his career, he has explored everything from post-punk and desert-tinged soundscapes to ambient textures and intimate performances, drawing on a cinematic approach to songwriting.
After moving from Northern New Jersey to Austria in the early 2000s, Boroff founded the band Matt Boroff & the Mirrors and, through extensive touring and numerous releases, built a dedicated fan base across Europe, evolving from raw, guitar-driven energy to more atmospheric, narrative-driven works. Subsequent solo albums, including *Grand Delusion* and *Beautiful Machine*, further expanded this range, incorporating orchestral arrangements, electronic textures, and collaborations with Alain Johannes, Jack Irons, and Mark Lanegan.
Location
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
